Indian electric commercial vehicle manufacturer EKA Mobility has announced a significant expansion in the African market through a deal to supply 35 electric buses to Zanzibar, Tanzania. This move marks a major step in the region's transition toward sustainable urban mobility.
Initial Fleet Deployment
The company has already made progress on the contract, confirming the delivery of an initial batch of 15 units. These vehicles represent the first phase of a broader effort to modernize the local transit infrastructure with zero-emission technology.
Strategic Growth
As a rising player in the electric commercial vehicle sector, EKA Mobility’s partnership with Zanzibar highlights the growing demand for affordable and efficient electric transport solutions in emerging markets. The remaining 20 units are expected to follow as part of the total commitment to the Tanzanian archipelago.
