Two Skoda employees took turns behind the wheel, implementing hypermiling techniques such as gentle acceleration and strategic braking to maximize the distance covered.

During the efficiency run, the Peaq 90 achieved an energy consumption rate of 9.2 kWh per 100 kilometers (approximately 6.8 miles per kWh), significantly outperforming its official WLTP range of 402 miles. Dry weather conditions were explicitly noted as essential to the result, as Skoda acknowledged that wet road conditions would have made achieving the 582-mile target impossible.

The journey commenced on a Tuesday at noon and concluded the following Wednesday afternoon. The drivers changed multiple times throughout the trek, prioritizing range over trip speed. The route successfully navigated through Europe, ultimately ending in Zandvoort, which is 28 miles beyond the original destination of Amsterdam. The vehicle was driven until it reached 0% state of charge, proving the feasibility of extreme efficiency in a production electric SUV.
