In June 2026, Norway registered 18,875 new battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), resulting in a record 96.5% EV market share for new passenger car registrations. The first half of 2026 saw an even higher electric share of 97.6%, despite a slight contraction in the overall car market.
This surge pushed Norway's total electric vehicle fleet past the one million mark, reaffirming its position as a global leader in EV adoption.
