The Gist

“Luxury EV brand Aito, a collaboration between Seres and Huawei, officially plans to bring its intelligent vehicle lineup to the European market by autumn 2027.”

The Road to Europe

The Paris Motor Show has become a pivotal stage for global automotive expansion, and this year, Aito—a premium electric vehicle brand born from the partnership between Seres and Huawei—used the platform to confirm its entry into the European market. Slated for an autumn 2027 launch, the brand intends to challenge established luxury players with its unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and integrated digital intelligence. By positioning itself as a leader in 'technological luxury,' Aito aims to leverage its success from China, where it has already delivered over 1.2 million vehicles.

Preparing for such a significant international debut requires more than just shipping existing models. The brand is currently navigating the complex regulatory environment of the European Union, focusing heavily on establishing a robust service and distribution network. While specific country launches remain under wraps, the commitment to 'comprehensive localization' suggests a deliberate and strategic rollout designed to foster long-term customer trust rather than a hasty entry.

The Aito Model Quartet

Aito is bringing a comprehensive lineup to international markets, ranging from the flagship Aito 9 down to the mid-size Aito 6. All these models are built upon the advanced Seres MF platform and incorporate cutting-edge battery technology from CATL.

Aito 9

As the flagship E-SUV, the Aito 9 measures 5.23 meters in length with a substantial 3.11-meter wheelbase. It serves as the primary showcase for the brand's technology, offering configurations for five or six passengers. Designed for the upper echelon of the luxury market, it is available in both pure battery-electric and range-extender powertrains.

Aito 8, 7, and 6

Sitting below the flagship, the Aito 8 is positioned as a premium E-SUV designed for comfort and performance. The Aito 7 functions as a large crossover SUV, providing a versatile five-to-six-seat interior, while the Aito 6 rounds out the collection as a mid-size crossover, offering a more compact yet equally intelligent package for urban environments.

Manufacturing and Battery Synergy

A cornerstone of Aito's production strategy is its deep-rooted partnership with CATL. The two companies have pioneered a 'factory-in-factory' concept, where CATL operates battery assembly lines directly within the Seres Super Factory in Chongqing. This proximity eliminates logistical bottlenecks and enhances overall cost competitiveness.

Currently, the site is undergoing a major expansion. With the addition of a second construction phase, the facility is expected to reach an annual capacity exceeding 20 GWh. By utilizing CATL’s sophisticated Cell-to-Pack (CTP) 2.0 technology, Aito ensures that its European-bound fleet is backed by some of the most efficient energy storage systems currently available in the automotive industry.

Why It Matters

Aito's entry marks a significant escalation in the competition for the European EV market. By fusing Huawei’s consumer-grade software expertise with Seres’s automotive manufacturing, the brand promises a 'smart' driving experience that goes beyond standard infotainment. For European consumers, this represents a new choice in the luxury segment: vehicles that treat software integration as a primary feature rather than an afterthought, all supported by a high-density, localized supply chain.
