The Gist

Mercedes-Benz expands its electric portfolio in China with a long-wheelbase GLC featuring an 800-volt architecture and CATL battery technology.

Mercedes-Benz has officially introduced the long-wheelbase version of its electric GLC to the Chinese market. Designed to meet local demand for increased cabin space, the new model is available in three distinct variants, offering both five- and six-seat configurations.

Advanced Power and Battery Tech

The electric SUV is built on a high-efficiency 800-volt architecture, which enables faster charging capabilities and improved thermal management. Powering the vehicle is a Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery pack supplied by the industry leader CATL.

Pricing and Availability

Pricing for the new electric GLC starts at 299,900 yuan. By opting for a long-wheelbase design, Mercedes-Benz is positioning the vehicle to compete directly in China's highly competitive premium EV segment, where rear-seat legroom is a primary factor for consumers.
