A new consortium led by Archer Aviation and BETA Technologies aims to build a nationwide interoperable charging network for electric aircraft across the United States.

Archer Aviation and BETA Technologies, in partnership with Macquarie Capital, have announced the formation of the ACES consortium. The initiative is designed to accelerate the adoption of electric aviation by establishing a robust, nationwide charging infrastructure across the United States.

Expanding the Electric Sky

By the year 2030, the consortium plans to equip more than 250 strategic locations with specialized charging stations. These sites will utilize the Combined Charging System (CCS) standard, ensuring interoperability between different electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and other electric aviation platforms.

This move is seen as a critical step in overcoming infrastructure hurdles that have previously slowed the scaling of electric flight. By providing a reliable and standardized network, the ACES consortium aims to support both commercial and private electric aviation operations on a large scale.
