Voltpost, a startup specializing in curbside electric vehicle charging solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with InCharge Energy to streamline the rollout of its innovative lamppost-based chargers. By utilizing existing urban infrastructure, the collaboration seeks to address the growing demand for accessible charging in densely populated areas.
Retrofitting Urban Infrastructure
The partnership focuses on deploying Voltpost’s Level 2 charging stations, which are designed to wrap around existing lampposts. This approach significantly reduces the need for extensive trenching and construction, allowing for faster and more cost-effective installation compared to traditional charging pedestals.
InCharge Energy will provide its expertise in fleet and infrastructure solutions to support the large-scale deployment of these units. The initiative is particularly aimed at providing charging options for EV owners who do not have access to dedicated off-street parking, a major hurdle for urban EV adoption.
