A new study from Karolinska Institutet has used single-cell sequencing to investigate the diversity of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) at the cellular and molecular levels, revealing distinct molecular profiles and diversity within individual leukemic clones.
Key Insights
Single-cell sequencing reveals transcriptional and immunogenetic diversity in stereotyped chronic lymphocytic leukemia, with distinct molecular profiles associated with different stereotyped subsets of CLL. Moreover, diversity within individual leukemic clones is evident, with cells accumulating additional mutations in genes encoding B-cell receptors.
