Tesla is accelerating the development of its humanoid robot, Optimus, by integrating training protocols directly into its manufacturing environment. Employees at the Grünheide vehicle plant, also known as Giga Berlin, will play a pivotal role in this process by recording human movement patterns during complex assembly tasks.
Refining Robotic Precision
By capturing the nuanced motions of human workers on the factory floor, Tesla aims to provide Optimus with the high-fidelity data necessary to replicate intricate manual labor. This hands-on training approach is designed to bridge the gap between digital simulations and the physical dexterity required for large-scale industrial applications.
Expanding Robotics Hubs
In addition to the training initiatives in Berlin, Tesla is bolstering its robotics footprint in Reutlingen. This facility is reportedly focusing on the development of critical components and specialized production processes intended to support the eventual mass manufacturing of the Optimus robot.
