Impact of Prenatal Inflammation

The study focused on mouse offspring that developed persistent brain overactivity, sensory sensitivity, repetitive behaviors, and an increased risk of seizures following exposure to mild inflammation during pregnancy. These symptoms are often used as models for studying neurodevelopmental conditions in humans.

Rapid Behavioral Improvement

The most striking finding was the speed of the intervention. A single dose of rapamycin improved nearly all observed neurological and behavioral issues. Although the effects were temporary, the rapid response suggests that the adult brain is not "hard-wired" in a way that precludes symptom management later in life.
