Renault is set to transform its production facility in Palencia, Spain, into a strategic hub for electric vehicle manufacturing. Starting in 2028, the plant is expected to produce three distinct electric SUV models, signaling a significant expansion of the site's capabilities.
A Triple-Threat SUV Lineup
In addition to the upcoming Renault Rafale and the Scenic, the Palencia facility will reportedly handle the assembly of the next-generation electric Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. This move highlights the deepening industrial ties within the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance as the brands transition toward fully electric portfolios.
The expansion into a production site for three electric SUVs is part of a broader strategy to optimize manufacturing across Europe and leverage existing infrastructure for the next wave of zero-emission mobility.
