Mercedes-Benz is preparing to unveil the third generation of its popular GLA compact SUV at the end of July, signaling a significant shift in its entry-level luxury strategy. Production Stability Amid Cost-Cutting
Despite ongoing cost-cutting measures across the manufacturer's global operations, production for the next-generation GLA will remain at the Rastatt plant in Germany. This decision provides much-needed certainty for the facility, as there had been speculation that production might be relocated to optimize manufacturing expenses.
Hybrid Options to Follow
While the initial focus remains on the fully electric variant, Mercedes-Benz does not plan to abandon internal combustion entirely for this segment. Hybrid petrol variants are expected to join the lineup in 2027, ensuring the GLA remains competitive in markets where charging infrastructure is still developing.
