The Gist

“The Škoda Epiq family grows with a dynamic Sportline variant, blending athletic aesthetics with efficient electric performance and a range of up to 440 kilometers.”

The Rise of the Epiq Sportline

Škoda is injecting a dose of athletic energy into its electric portfolio with the introduction of the new Epiq Sportline. Designed as a high-performance iteration within the brand's growing EV Urban Car family, this model distinguishes itself with an aggressive aesthetic package that prioritizes visual flair without compromising its underlying MEB+ platform foundations. As the only trim level to offer a striking black contrast roof, the Sportline makes a bold statement in the compact electric crossover segment.

Visually, the vehicle is characterized by a suite of dark accents, including high-gloss black badging, integrated roof rails, and sleek black side mirror caps. The vehicle sits sturdily on standard 19-inch alloy wheels, with an optional upgrade to 20-inch rims available for those seeking a more planted stance. These exterior modifications complement the functional utility of the 4.17-meter-long chassis, ensuring the vehicle remains as practical as it is stylish.

Performance and Powertrain Options

The Epiq Sportline offers versatility through two distinct powertrain configurations, the Epiq 40 and the Epiq 55, catering to different driving needs. The entry-tier Epiq 40 utilizes a 38.5 kWh gross battery (37 kWh net) paired with a 99 kW motor that delivers 267 Nm of torque. It is optimized for city commutes and urban environments, offering a range exceeding 310 kilometers and efficient DC fast charging that moves the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 23 minutes.

For those requiring greater range and power, the Epiq 55 ups the ante with a 55 kWh gross capacity (52 kWh net) battery. This variant boasts 155 kW of output and 290 Nm of torque, enabling a brisk 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 7.1 seconds. With a maximum range of 440 kilometers and a fast-charge time of 24 minutes for the same 10-80 percent window, the Epiq 55 positions itself as a robust companion for longer journeys. Both models maintain a capped top speed of 160 km/h.

Interior Refinement and Tech Suite

Inside, the Sportline trim leans heavily into its name with a cabin focused on the driver. The interior features electrically adjustable sports seats upholstered in premium microfibre, accompanied by a black headliner and a three-spoke heated steering wheel. Notably, the steering wheel includes paddles specifically designed to adjust regenerative braking, giving the driver granular control over energy efficiency on the fly.

Key Standard and Premium Features

  • Lighting: Matrix LED headlights, LED rear lights, and a signature illuminated front light strip.
  • Connectivity & Convenience: Dual-zone automatic climate control, front seat heating, and a 15-watt inductive charging pad.
  • Driver Assistance: Travel Assist 3.0, parking sensors, and a high-definition rear-view camera.
  • Premium Upgrades: Optional packages include a 360-degree camera system, a high-fidelity Canton sound system, and a 25-litre frunk for extra storage.

By leveraging the advanced MEB+ platform, the Epiq Sportline succeeds in providing a modern, software-forward experience that integrates seamlessly with Škoda Connect Premium services. With order books opening in Germany at the end of October, the Epiq Sportline represents a significant step in Škoda’s strategy to make high-performance electric motoring accessible within a compact, urban-friendly footprint.
