Kia is continuing to push the boundaries of its modular electric vehicle platform, recently unveiling a unique adaptation of the PV5 electric van. The vehicle has been transformed into a mobile, off-grid racing simulator, demonstrating the platform's potential beyond traditional transport and logistics.
Immersive Gaming on the Go
The centerpiece of this conversion is a substantial 55-inch screen integrated into the van's interior. Designed as a professional-grade racing rig, the setup allows users to experience high-fidelity simulation without the need for external power sources, leveraging the van's onboard battery system.
The Versatility of the PV5 Platform
This project highlights Kia's 'Platform Beyond Vehicle' (PBV) strategy. By utilizing the PV5's spacious and modular design, Kia aims to show that electric vans can serve as mobile hubs for entertainment, remote work, or specialized lifestyle activities. The ability to run high-performance hardware off-grid underscores the robust power export capabilities of the electric drivetrain.
