The competition takes place on a 3.1-mile road course, a track traditionally recognized for high-performance internal combustion engine racing. This week, however, the roar of gas engines has been replaced by the quiet efficiency of solar-powered prototypes as teams from various universities put their engineering to the test.
Day 1 focused on the initial laps and performance assessments, setting the stage for a week of endurance and technical challenges.
