Einride, a leader in digital, electric, and autonomous freight technology, has announced plans to acquire Flipturn, a specialized developer of charging management software. The all-stock transaction is designed to significantly scale Einride’s operational capabilities within the North American market.
Expanding Charging Infrastructure
The acquisition is expected to more than double Einride’s current managed charging capacity. By integrating Flipturn’s advanced software solutions, Einride aims to establish what it describes as the largest charging ecosystem for electric heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) in North America.
This strategic move addresses one of the primary hurdles in the electrification of heavy-duty transport: the need for robust, intelligent charging infrastructure. Flipturn’s technology provides real-time visibility and optimization for fleet operators, ensuring that electric trucks remain on the move with minimal downtime.
Strategic Growth in North America
By bringing Flipturn’s expertise in-house, Einride strengthens its position as an end-to-end provider of electric freight solutions. The deal underscores a growing trend in the EV sector where hardware providers are increasingly looking toward sophisticated software to manage complex energy demands and fleet logistics.
