Dublin Airport has reached a significant milestone in its sustainability journey by introducing Ireland’s first pantograph chargers for electric buses. This new high-power infrastructure is specifically designed to support the airport's passenger shuttle operations, ensuring a cleaner and more efficient transport experience for travelers.
High-Power Infrastructure for Busy Routes
The project focuses on upgrading one of the airport’s most heavily utilized transport routes. By implementing pantograph charging—a system where a rooftop connector links the bus to an overhead power supply—the airport can provide rapid energy top-ups during short stops. This method ensures maximum uptime and reliability for the fleet without requiring long periods of stationary charging.
