ÖBB Postbus, in partnership with Turkish manufacturer Otokar, has launched a pilot project featuring a fully automated electric bus capable of SAE Level 4 driving, with the first trips taking place at the European Forum Alpbach.

The autonomous e-CENTRO C bus is capable of SAE Level 4 driving and can accommodate up to 32 passengers. The bus will initially enter pilot service on a predefined route at the European Forum Alpbach and later connect the Campus Wolfurt to the local S-Bahn network, aiming to integrate autonomous vehicles into existing mobility services.
