The Volkswagen Group has reported a challenging first half of the year for its electric vehicle portfolio, with total battery-electric vehicle (BEV) deliveries reaching 438,500 units. This figure marks a 5.8% decrease compared to the same period in the previous year.
Regional Divergence
The decline in sales was primarily driven by significant slowdowns in two major markets: the United States and China. These regions have seen a cooling of demand for the Group's electric offerings, offsetting gains made elsewhere.
In contrast, the European market remains a bright spot for the German automaker. Volkswagen recorded an 8% growth rate in BEV deliveries within Europe, highlighting continued momentum in its home region despite the broader global downturn.
