Engine Replacement Underway
Following the aborted attempt, engineers identified issues necessitating a full engine replacement. This maintenance requirement suggests that the stress of the initial ignition sequence or a sensor anomaly triggered a safety shutdown to prevent a more catastrophic failure on the pad.
While the delay is a setback for the rapid iteration cycle typical of SpaceX, it highlights the rigorous safety protocols governing the Starship development process. The company has not yet announced a new window for the flight test, as teams work to integrate the new engine and verify all systems for the next attempt.
