Menzies Distribution Solutions has taken a major step towards electrifying its fleet with the introduction of three 42-tonne Scania electric trucks in the UK. The trucks, which feature a 450 kW electric powertrain, will operate from Menzies' distribution centre in Wakefield, serving retail and fast-moving consumer goods customers.

The deployment is part of the eFREIGHT 2030 project, which aims to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the logistics industry. Menzies plans to deploy a total of ten battery-electric HGVs, including models from DAF and Renault Trucks, under the project, further solidifying its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.
