Kia has officially expanded the lineup for its compact electric crossover, the EV2, introducing a new Long Range variant designed to alleviate range anxiety for urban and suburban drivers. The updated model now offers a maximum driving range of 281 miles on a single charge, providing a significant boost over the standard battery option.
New Trim Levels: GT and Black-Line
In addition to the battery upgrade, Kia is diversifying the EV2 range with two new aesthetic and performance-oriented trims. The Black-Line trim focuses on a darkened, premium exterior aesthetic, while the GT trim brings a sportier edge to the compact EV segment. These additions are part of Kia's broader strategy to make electric mobility more accessible while offering the variety typically found in internal combustion engine lineups.
The EV2 is positioned as a critical entry point for Kia's dedicated electric platform, aimed at capturing a larger share of the mass market.
