ChargePoint has announced a strategic expansion of its electric vehicle charging network through two new infrastructure partnerships in the United States. These agreements are designed to address both urban accessibility and long-distance travel needs across the Eastern Seaboard and the Northeast.
Expanding Access in the Southeast
The first phase of the expansion involves the addition of more than 200 public charging ports throughout the Southeast. This move aims to provide better support for EV drivers in regions where infrastructure density has historically lagged behind the West Coast.
Ultra-Fast Charging for Highway Corridors
In addition to regional density, ChargePoint is focusing on high-speed travel. The company will deploy ultra-fast charging stations at 12 key highway travel plazas across Pennsylvania and New York. These stations are expected to significantly reduce charging times for long-distance travelers, facilitating smoother interstate transit for electric vehicle owners.
