The lawsuit contended that Meta made false claims about the privacy and security of its chat service. However, the court found the arguments insufficient to proceed, ultimately dismissing the claims that the tech giant was misleading users about the nature of its encryption protocols.
WhatsApp has long maintained that its end-to-end encryption ensures only the sender and recipient can read messages, with no access granted to the company or third parties. This ruling reinforces Meta's current legal standing regarding its flagship messaging platform's security infrastructure.
