Monday.com has announced a major restructuring plan that includes laying off 20% of its global workforce. The move results in the departure of approximately 630 staff members as the company seeks to streamline its operations and shift its primary focus toward artificial intelligence.
A Leaner Operating Model
According to a company statement, the reduction in headcount is designed to support a "leaner, more focused operating model." This strategic shift comes as the organization doubles down on its AI Work Platform, signaling a pivot from traditional project management tools toward automated, AI-driven solutions.
The layoffs reflect a broader trend in the tech industry where companies are reallocating resources from human capital to AI development to maintain competitiveness in a rapidly evolving market. Despite the significant cut in personnel, Monday.com intends to use the resulting efficiency to accelerate the integration of machine learning and generative tools across its suite of products.
