This open-source recreation aims to provide an authentic experience without the prohibitive costs and reliability issues associated with original vintage hardware, which originally retailed for nearly $10,000.

Support for Legacy Media

One of the most notable features of the LisaFPGA project is its potential compatibility with 'Twiggy' drives—Apple’s ill-fated high-capacity 5.25-inch floppy disk system. While the original drives were notorious for their high failure rates, this digital recreation allows enthusiasts to interface with the unique quirks of the Lisa Operating System and its pioneering graphical user interface in a stable environment.
