Nous Research, the artificial intelligence startup behind the well-regarded Hermes agent maker, is currently in discussions to secure a new round of capital. According to sources familiar with the matter, the company is aiming to raise at least $75 million, a move that would propel its valuation to approximately $1.5 billion.
Investor Interest and Backing
The funding round is reportedly being spearheaded by Robot Ventures. Other notable participants expected to join the round include Union Square Ventures (USV) and several other prominent institutional investors. This surge in valuation reflects the growing market appetite for specialized AI agent frameworks and open-source model refinements.
Nous Research has gained significant traction within the AI development community for its work on the Hermes series, which provides enhanced reasoning and instruction-following capabilities on top of existing foundational models.
